Special program to discover the heart of the Camargue for the "Ascension" long week-end. A horseback ride among flamingoes, bulls and white Camargue horses.
INDICATIVE ITINERARY :
Thursday: Meeting at the equestrian center and accommodation at 2 pm. Departure at 2:30 pm for a two hour traditional Camargue ride, during which you will discover the richness of the interior of the Camargue nature park. Aperitive, dinner and night at the Mas (farm in Provence).
Friday: Breakfast at 8:30 am. Departure on horseback around 9:30 am for a day ride. you will ride at the edge of the Petit Rhône, dammed for the protection of the Camargue. Crossing the Petit Rhône on a ferry with horses, destination the "Domain of the Great Raft", private property, the story of this place will be told by your guide. Visit this wild place, discover its beach and pine forest, fauna and flora. You will picnic on the beach and have an oportunity for a swim in the sea. Back to Mas by the inland. Appetizer, dinner and night at the Mas.
Saturday: Breakfast at 8:30 am. You will leave for a day ride at 9.30 am and ride in the direction of Saintes 
Maries de la Mer by bridle paths between land and ponds. You will discover the "levels" of the Camargue to the coast. Picnic at "Bouvao of Aubanel", in the shadow of the Laupio. Translations and explanations of those words will be provided by your guide ! The afternoon, you will enjoy a ride on the beach and the you will cross the Imperial reserve among flamingoes. Moorland and sansouires, rich fauna and flora of the Camargue. A multitude of birds are waiting for you depending on the period (350 migratory bird species are listed in the Camargue). Tour ends at the "tip of Cacharel." Minibus transfer, aperitif and dinner before your last night at the Mas.
Sunday: Breakfast at 8:30 am. Departure on horseback around 9:30 for a half day ride and continue to discover the wealth of this place. Reedbeds, traditional Camargue constructions (herdsmen huts), ranches, vineyards. Return to the Mas for lunch. End of the stay after the meal.
MEETING:
Thursday at 2 pm at the equestrian center.
Coming by train: Arles train station, then bus to Pioch Badet (Arles - Saintes-Maries-dela-Mer: see schedule). Ticket price: about 3 €. Pick-up at the bus stop and free transfer to the equestrian center.
You can also arrive at Montpellier or Nimes and take a taxi to the equestrian center in Camargue.
Coming by plane: Montpellier or Nimes airport, then taxi to the Equestrian center (cost about 100 €).

Sunday afternoon after the lunch at about 2 pm. Free transfer to Pioch Badet. Bus to Arles train station see schedule.

ACCOMMODATION: 
At the equestrian center, in a typical and simple Camargue farmhouse. 2 bedrooms for 2 people with private bathrooms and two single beds, 1 bedroom for 3 people with private bathrooms and 3 single beds, 1 chalet for 3 people with 1 double bed and 1 single bed (shared bathrooms outside the chalet).
MEALS:
In the evening, authentic, family cuisine is offered to you at the guesthouse table. 1 dinner is free (not included): you can go in one of the many lively restaurants in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (by taxi if you don't have a vehicle, 50 € per person round trip). Picnics carried in the saddlebags or brought by an assistant (depending on the number of participants).

May 30 at 2:30 pm at the equestrian center in Camargue 20 minutes drive from Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Coming by train, you can take a bus at Arles train station, Saintes-Maries-de-la-Meer direction, Pioch Badet bus stop. A minibus will transfer you from the bus station to the equestrian center.
