WHEN TO GO HORSEBACK RIDING IN TUSCANY
Tuscany enjoys a mild, Mediterranean climate. Winters are mild, with daytime lows exceeding 10°C, while summers are hot and dry, with temperatures reaching around 30°C in July and August. Rainfall is more frequent in spring and autumn.
Spring marks the beginning of sunnier days, with temperatures climbing to 25°C in May. The temperatures are perfect for exploring Tuscany, which regains its vibrant colors, whether for a weekend getaway or a longer horseback riding trip. The hills are adorned with beautiful shades of green, and the countryside is dotted with bright red poppies. The Tuscan countryside is at its most beautiful, and what a pleasure it is to discover its hilltop villages along cypress-lined roads. However, rain does occur during this period, especially in April, but it is not prolonged. Summer can be very hot for a horseback riding trip in Tuscany. In Florence, the temperature can exceed 30°C during the day. Take advantage of this to cool off in the many museums and palaces. In summer, it's the perfect time to swim at Tuscany's beaches. The island of Elba is one of the region's most beautiful seaside destinations, with its numerous coves and golden sand dunes. The water temperature is very pleasant, around 25°C in July and August.
Autumn is a lovely season for horseback riding in Tuscany, as the temperatures are still pleasant. Autumn also brings beautiful colors to nature. However, as in spring, rain can occur during this season, especially in October.
