This horseback ride in Brazil in the Big Fish Restinga Lagoon National Park is a unique opportunity to discover on a great Lusitano horse, a set of very rich ecosystems. In an inhospitable region like this, everything is accessible on horseback, allowing you to get out of the Patos lagoon, also called the "inland sea" (280 km long and up to 60 km wide). In a few hours of riding, you reach the "outer sea", the Atlantic Ocean, crossing wetlands, native forests, dunes, lagoons and beaches: an incredible and beautiful diversity. The natives say that "it is the only place where the sun rises and sets in the sea".

INDICATIVE ITINERARY *
5 DAYS:
Day 1: Reception after lunch at the Farm located 225 kms south of Porto Alegre, in the southern coastal region of Rio Grande do Sul State, a few kilometers after Tavares and next to the National Park Lagoa dos Peixes. As schedule on arrival the first contact with the horses and a familiarization ride.
Day 2: After breakfast meet the horses and make the first trail ride. Lunch on the edge of the Patos Lagoon. In the afternoon ride through the deserted beaches of the lagoon, about 13 km, stopping at the edge of high dunes, 10 meters, a beautiful view of the immensity of the Lagoon. Then continue the ride with arrival scheduled for the end of the day, enjoying sunset at the beach. Before or after lunch opportunity for a good swim in the lagoon (which looks like an ocean)
Day 3: After breakfast leave to the Ocean, crossing Lagoa dos Peixes National Park. (riding about 1 hour within of water). Afternoon ride through deserted beaches. Leave the horses on the field and return by car to the Stud farm.
Day 4: Departure after breakfast to start the ride across the north side for a ride between the Lagoa dos Peixes and dunes with a stop for lunch in the open field. In the afternoon we continue riding until reach the main house of the farm, where later in the day we will have a special dinner.
Day 5: After breakfast, transfer to Porto Alegre.
7 DAYS:

Day 3: After breakfast ride through the National Park of Lagoa do Peixe, reaching the Ocean after a few hours, (riding about 1 hour within of water), snack lunch on the beach. After crossing the south side bar, arrives at Lima field up the dunes. At the end of the ride, the horses stay in that field and group returns by car to the Stud Farm.
Day 4: After breakfast drive to the Lima field where the group meets the horses. Ride start crossing of the Fish Pond Bar, north side (usually in the bar there is greater concentration of birds). Ride continues along the beach, towards north, skirting Lagoa dos Peixes (Fish Lagoon). Stop for a snack lunch on the way.
Day 5: After breakfast leave to the field where the horses are. On the ride this day, cross 3 km of dunes, arriving to the sea where during the snack lunch those who wish can swim). At the end of the day, the ride pass through preserved native bush area.
Day 6: On this day the group may help the Gauchos on their work with cattle in the morning. Special barbecue farewell lunch under a big Fig tree. Late afternoon the group goes to the beach of Lagoa dos Patos see the stallions of the Stud Farm do a Dressage presentation. Good opportunity for pictures. Those who wish, can mount the beautiful white stallion for a picture (prancing the horse). Opportunity to bath in the lagoon (Lagoa dos Patos) on the sunset.
Day 7: After breakfast, transfer to Porto Alegre.

MEETING:
Day 1 (usually Friday), but flexible. Free transfer from Puerto Alegre airport end of afternoon.
DEPARTURE:
Day 5 morning after breakfast (usually Tuesday) for the 5 days, or Day 7 morning after breakfast (usually Thursday) for the 7 days. Free transfer to Puerto Alegre airport after brekfast.
RIDING LEVEL: 
To be comfortable on horseback at three gaits outdoors, at canter in various terrains: on trails, open terrain, in bodies of water.
Maximum weight: 110 kg. Minimum age: 12 years old accompanied by an adult.
RYTHM:
5 to 6 hours on horseback per day on average. The pace varies from walk to trot and canter as soon as the terrain allows.
GUIDES:
You will be accompanied by an English speaking guide and a local guide. Both guides have good knowledge of the local area.
GROUPS:
2 to 10 riders + guides.
HORSES:
Lusitano horses. Safe and balanced horses.
TACK:
The saddles used on this ride are typical gaúcho saddles, with ship skin on top, very confortable. The horses respond to neck reining and are used to a loose rein wherever possible.
ACCOMMODATION: 
In comfortable ensuite bedroom in the suites of the lodge built next to the main house of the ranch, stud farm of more than 50 Lusitanian horses.
MEALS:
The meals are typical and varied, often barbecues, typical Brazilian cuisine. At noon, some meals are taken in small local restaurants, or picnics are taken from the saddlebags.
