Excellent French and English-speaking instructor!
Attentive supervision focused on horseback safety.
I was able to ride several horses in excellent physical condition and mastering high-school maneuvers. (Poeta, Horda, etc.)
A saddle that fit my size (18.5) was provided by Paulo.
Standard rooms cleaned daily.
Hearty meals, home-cooked family cooking.
Excellent school for discovering Portuguese riding and magnificent, well-trained Lusitano horses. At gallop level 7 (FFE), I was able to consolidate my practice of dressage maneuvers such as yield, support, shoulders-in, head-to-wall, etc., and even be introduced to piaffe and passage. Groups of similar skill levels of 2 or 3 riders, or even solo, allow for optimal work in the arena. The hotel facilities on the school grounds are very good, and the swimming pool is a pleasant place to relax between lessons. I also recommend renting a car to explore the region and reach the beaches, which are less than 20 minutes away. Thank you to the team who spared no effort to ensure we had the most enjoyable stay: Mario, Marianne, Paolo, and of course, Léna (and her delicious meals!).

I received an extraordinary welcome!! They took great care of me (meals, room, etc.) from the moment I arrived, experiencing jet lag (Canada). They have an outstanding cook, and the room maintenance is impeccable. I was treated to a personalized cake and sparkling wine for my birthday!! They were also quick and efficient in helping me manage the taxi, the COVID test, etc. WOW!!
The instructors Mario and Sergio are super competent and adapted to my hearing problem and my level of riding. I had an extraordinary internship!! The place is beautiful, and so are the horses (beautiful foals for sale, hehehe). I improved my horsemanship and did therapy just by looking at the mountains.
Safety management: Nothing to say!! They ensured my horse's saddle because I am small, and they were vigilant about any handling errors.
Cavalry and tack: A great horse! He was very cooperative, and I progressed with him. Comfortable saddle also for having spent many hours in it without having any discomfort! Equipment adjusted to the horse and the type of rider.

Georges and Sergio are great instructors ! A majority of private lessons during my week.
With the pandemic, school horses have unfortunately been sold. There are about twenty owner horses (Portuguese and mostly international). I rode Caramello and Girasol (stallion), two Lusitanians, very good schoolmasters. Caramello is quite delicate especially for canter starts. Once at work, it is great but you have to know how to find the "buttons"
Good condition of the material. Sticks and spurs available. Bring your helmet and your boots/chaps. Clean stable. Dedicated grooming room.
Lena is an excellent cook: meat for lunch (+ fruit), fish for dinner (+ soup + Portuguese dessert) ! Crudités as a starter with all meals. Breakfast: bread, salted butter, jams, honey, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, tea/coffee/hot milk, orange juice. The rooms are comfortable. Every day, the cleaning lady comes to clean your room and clean the floor. She can also wash your belongings (laundry basket available in the bathroom).
Very pleasant school to perfect your dressage and meet international trainees ! Family atmosphere. The instructors are demanding and adapt to all riders, perfect for progressing! I had the great chance to work with Georges, a student of the great Master Nuno Oliveira! The horses are all kind and good school teachers. I was able to review all the low dressage school and also make changes of feet, a little pawing and passage ! Superb feelings !
The meals are hearty and delicious (full board), all the members of the staff are very attentive (laundry possible on site). Tips appreciated at the end of the course.
Only downside: damp rooms in winter (bring warm things to sleep in winter).
Ideal location for visiting the surroundings (provided you only ride once a day): Ericeira, Mafra, Sintra... Superb saddlery/saddler's workshop with all the riding equipment 6 minutes by car in Malveira (Correaria do West), to see ! Feira de Golegã (capital of the horse): every year, at the beginning of November, at 1h30 from the school, an experience to live absolutely!!! (largest fair in Europe)
