A horseback trail ride in Spain that will take you from the foothills of the Catalan Pyrenees to the Mediterranean Sea, where you can enjoy the large bay of Roses. You will discover the natural landscapes of Baix Empordá and Alto Empordá, the Mediterranean forest, the coastline and its long sandy beaches as well as medieval villages such as Serra de Daró, Sant Iscle and Colomers. Day 1: Transfer from the Gerona airport, or meeting directly to the equestrian tourism center and your first accommodation: a typical Catalan farmhouse. Feel at home! You will find all the comfort of a quality accommodation, as well as a rural and traditional environment. This property is located in the heart of Baix Empordá, the Costa Brava, a few kilometers from the beach. The good atmosphere, the pool, the meadow and the landscape offer you a pleasant atmosphere. Before dinner, presentation of the program of the week.

Day 2: After a good breakfast,contact with the horses, preparation and departure of the ride. You begin your journey by crossing the alluvial zone of the river Ter, which feeds the irrigation of the numerous orchards and cereal fields. You follow Sant Iscle d'Empordà, a typical example of construction on raised spaces to avoid the floodplains of the river. More arid lands await you once the river is crossed. Lunch break in a restaurant in Colomers, then you continue your ride to your accommodation. After leaving the horses in their paddocks, rest and refined dinner prepared by your host Cristina.

Day 3: Breakfast and preparation of horses. Today's trail links farmland and forests through several villages of historical interest. You join Báscara. Later, you ride along the Fluvià River. You cross Pontós and its 6th century archaeological site. You continue to the tower of angels, from where you discover a wide view to the sea. In the shade of pine trees, you will enjoy a nice lunch before nap. Then you go back to your evening accommodation.

Day 4: After a good breakfast, your horse awaits you to go on a trail between vineyards and olive trees. Head north. You cross Vilanant and Llers to the Muga River. Under a small dam with a waterfall, possibility of swimming with your horse in fresh water before a good lunch prepared in the shade of a willow. You go back to Capmany by entering the territory of the vineyards of Empordà. You can admire the walls and dry stone buildings listed as World Heritage. You continue to Cantallops for the evening break, in a hotel where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing massage (on reservation and with extra charge) before a good dinner and a well deserved rest.

Day 5: Today, you go in the mountains through the Sierra de la Albera passing near the impressive castle of Recasens, dating from the eleventh century. You discover the landscapes of the Mediterranean Pyrenees, on paths between cork oaks and holm oaks with panoramas on the mountain and the sea. The lunch break is planned in a charming village. You continue the afternoon along vineyards and olive trees on less rugged terrain. You arrive at Vilamaniscle, with at its summit, the ruins of a castle. Your accommodation is a restored farmhouse with a lot of style, where you can relax in its spacious dining room overlooking the mountains and the sea, where the chef Montse vaus has prepared a delicious dinner. Before the meal, you can tast the wines of the region in a cellar.

Day 6: You leave the foot of the Pyrenees to go to the beach, always among olive trees and vineyards on more flat ground, the pace can accelerate to reach the Castello d'Empuries, passing by Vilanova de la Muga. You have lunch again under the trees on the Muga River banks. You can visit Castelló de Empuries with a rich history, preserving many vestiges of the medieval period. You go back to the beach crossing the natural park of Aiguamolls de l'Empordà, a beautiful wetland with rich fauna. Once settled in the hotel, you can take a walk on the beach to feel the breeze of the sea while waiting for dinner.

Day 7: It's the last day and you can not wait for the sunrise on the beach to ride on the seaside with a feeling of indescribable freedom to Sant Martí d'Empúries for a breakfast break and swimming with the horses. Then, you will go to the mountain of Montgrí, majestic massif that will have guided you all along the route and that separates the Alto del Baix Empordà, an emblem of the Montgrí Natural Park, the Bajo Ter and the Medes Islands. Formed by limestone with a continental dune that you cross to its south face, you discover a magnificent view of the Medes Islands with the mountains of Gavarres in the background. You join your accommodation which was the starting point of your hike at noon, you can heal your horse, relax, enjoy the pool before a final friendly dinner.

Day 8: End of your ride in Spain, separation or transfer to Girona airport.
