A horseback ride to discover the Luberon Natural Park in the heart of Provence and the diversity of its landscapes between the Durance river valley and ridges of the Petit and Grand Luberon. Five intense days on horseback ! You can choose from these days: the first three  stationary days between the Luberon and the Durance river, the last two progressive days riding from the "lower" to the "higher" Luberon ... or the whole 5 days riding program to experience an exceptional week with your horse discovering the Luberon wonderful landscapes and its ornithological richness !

INDICATIVE ITINERARIES *

7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS / 5 DAYS RIDING:

Sunday: Meeting at the equestrian center, at the foot of the Luberon, from 6 pm. Installation, presentation of your ride, dinner and overnight. Free transfer from Marseille Provence airport (5pm), Aix en Provence TGV station (5:30 pm), Aix en Provence center (5:45 pm).

Monday: The Luberon crests . After breakfat, departure for a day loop to the peaks of Petit Luberon. Picnic from saddle bags in a beautiful Atlas cedar forest. You leave by discovering magnificent views of Mont Ventoux and the snow-capped peaks of southern Alps, before descending to the center and your accommodation.

Tuesday: Lauris - Merindol. Departure of the first day ride. From the foot of the Petit Luberon, you enter the massif, before going down. Picnic brought in saddle bags at the shelter of the little hut or outside to enjoy the sun. You leave again towards Merindol. Break to go walk to the old village, former Protestant capital destroyed in 1545. You will then cross the village on horseback to join the equestrian center where the horses will spend the night. Transfer by car to your accommodation in Lauris.

Wednesday: Merindol - Lauris. After breakfast, transfer to the horses before leaving to join the Durance bank. By pleasant trails allowing many paces, you ride along the river and discover the beauty of its meanders, sheltering many migratory birds, herons, beavers, or a superb bee fly ... You stop at the ornithological observatory, and then at the edge of the water for the picnic. After relaxing your horse by walking a little in the river you ride back near the village of Lauris, then to our center at the foot of the Luberon and your accommodation. Wine tasting in a local winery before dinner.

Thursday: Lauris - Buoux. After breakfast, you prepare your luggage, and departure for two days with a night in an inn in the heart of the Luberon across the Petit Luberon towards the village of Bonnieux, beautiful hilltop Provence village where houses are built in local stone, some dating from the 16th century, merge with the hills. A buffet awaits us near the village, prepared by our assistant.  The afternnon, we descend in the gorges of Aiguebrun, at the foot of beautiful climbing cliffs. The evening is planned in an inn at the foot of the cliffs: the Auberge des Seguins.

image 1069Friday: Buoux - Lauris. We ride to the crests of Grand Luberon, from where we discover a superb point of view: on the alpine summits in the north, until the Mediterranean in the south! The lunch prepared by our assistant awaits us near Lourmarin, classified village where lived and where rests Albert Camus. The return to our base is done along the foot of the Luberon. The trails are pleasant, in the pine forests and along vines and orchards overlooking the Durance valley, with a beautiful view of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire dear to Cézanne.

Saturday: End after breakfast. Free transfer to Aix en Provence train stations or Marseille Provence airport.

5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS / 5 DAYS RIDING:

Free transfers from Lauris center or La Roque d'Anthéron (Saint-Christophe) bus stop to Cap Rando.

MEETING FOR 7 DAYS 6 NIGHTS:
Transfers included

Sunday evening at Mas de Recaute in the Luberon. Free transfer from Marseille Provence airport (5 p.m.), Aix en Provence TGV station (5:30 p.m.) or Aix en Provence center station (5:45 p.m.).

DEPARTURE FOR 2 DAYS 1 NIGHT, 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS, 5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS:

Saturday morning after breakfast. Free transfer departure at 9:30 a.m. to Aix en Provence center station (10 a.m.), Aix en Provence TGV station (10:30 a.m.) or Marseille Provence airport (11 a.m.).

To make the most of this stay: be comfortable at the three paces, walk, trot and canter.

RYTHM:
On average, 5-6 hours of horse riding per day at three paces: walk, trot, and canter when the terrain allows it.

GUIDE & ASSISTANT:
1 qualified guide speaking French and English + 1 professional assistant ensuring the preparation of midday meals and luggage transfers for the two days of itinerant trekking.

HORSES:
rando a cheval en provenceEssentially crossing of Spanish, Arab, French breed. Horses are allocated according  to each rider weight, height, riding level and experience. All our horses are trail riding “professionals”. Living throughout the year in a herd, trail riding is their only work activity. For these reasons, they are well-balanced gentle, yet wilfully engaged.

TACK:Comfortable trail ride saddles equipped with saddle bags. Trail ride saddles are especially designed for long rides as well as for the gaits employed on this type of terrain. The saddles are comfortable for both the horse and the rider.

- Simple accommodation in the equestrian center, in a dormitory or in a bedroom, access to the swimming pool next to the equestrian center.
- In a comfortable guest house: next to the equestrian center, with an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammam, isolation box ... to relax after your horseback excursions.
In both cases, one night in an inn in the heart of the Luberon, the Auberge des Seguins, for the 2 last day itinerant ride (subject to availability, in the event of unavailability, return by minibus to your basic accommodation, horses remaining parked at the inn).

3. INSURANCES:
Cap Rando is covered for its professional civil liability: GENERALI contract n ° AL974010.
To register on a Cap Rando holiday, you must be covered by an individual liability insurance covering your activity, individual accident, assistance, repatriation, and possibly cancellation (strongly recommended not to lose your payment in case of unforeseen your cancellation insurance contract). We offer West European citizens to subscribe the "Cap Protection Insurance" from Chapka Insurance: see prices. This covers you for cancellation, interruption of stay, individual accident, assistance 24h / 24h, medical expenses abroad, luggage insurance, civil liability. You can also only take a cancellation insurance if you have insurance covering other risks. If you pay by credit card, depending on your card, you may be fully covered: check your contract.

4. PAYMENT:
A 30% deposit is required upon booking, the balance being due 60 days before the stay date. Less than 60 days before your departure date, full payment is requested at registration.
