A 5 day progressive horseback ride. The little Luberon is the wild Provence that you will discover on horseback: in the heart of Mediterranean vegetation, valleys, small canyons, panoramas, cliffs, perched villages. Sometimes you can see Bonelli's eagles or Egyptian vultures soaring majestically in the blue sky.

Itinerary
Programme intro

INDICATIVE ITINERARY *

Day 1: Lauris - Merindol.
Departure of the horseback ride: you are surrounded by nature in the heart of the "Petit" Luberon. You ride up a track lined with oaks and pines. Above, are cliffs, then you ride down. Picnic stop, then you continue to explore the "Petit" Luberon by descending to Merindol where you can make a short stop at the old village. You leave the village to reach the accommodation and settle in (spacious dormitory with around twenty beds, showers nearby, swimming pool in summer).

Day 2: Merindol - Maubec.
You leave following the foot of the northern slope of the "Petit" Luberon and a canal. You reach the village of Robion, then your evening accommodation in Maubec: Le mas de l'Etang.

Day 3: Maubec - Bonnieux. 
You now follow the foot of the northern slope of the "Petit" Luberon. You discover the beautiful village of Oppede le Vieux, then Lacoste sheltered by the famous castle of the Marquis de Sade. Then, you head to the campsite where you spend the night at the foot of the beautiful perched village of Bonnieux.

Day 4: Bonnieux - Buoux.
You set off on horseback towards the Claparedes Plateau: its lavender fields, its dry stone walls, its old shepherds' huts (bories) to reach the Aiguebrun valley and the Seguins inn where you spend the night.

image 2130Day 5: Buoux - Lauris.
Return to the starting point of your ride, via the "Petit" Luberon ridges, Lourmarin: another beautiful village in the Luberon. From Lourmarin to Lauris, you follow the foot of the Luberon along the orchards: vines, almond trees, cherry trees, peach trees, apricot trees ...

Indicative itinerary which can be modified if necessary. Particularly in the event of an exceptional risk of fire.

MEETING/DEPARTURE

MEETING
The morning of day 1 at 9 a.m. in Lauris in the Luberon. Lauris is located 1 hour drive from Marseille and Avignon, 1/2 hour drive from Aix en Provence.

DEPARTURE
Late afternoon on day 5 around 5 p.m. in Lauris.

Riding

To participate and enjoy this horseback ride, you must be comfortable at the three paces (walk, trot, canter) on balanced horses.

AGE & WEIGHT:
From 12 years old. Maximum weight: 85 kg.

RYTHM:
5 hours riding per day on average: 2-3 hours in the morning, 2-3 hours in the afternoon. At three paces: walk, trot, canter when the terrain allows it.

NUMBER OF RIDERS:
3 + the guide.

GUIDE:
Qualified guide speaking French and English.

Mainly Camargue breed. Your guide chooses your horse on the morning of departure based on your height, weight, level and experience. All the horses are trail riding “professionals”. They only do this activity and live all year round in herds. For these reasons, they are balanced, kind and strong-willed.

TACK:
Comfortable western and trail riding saddles equipped with saddlebags that allow you to carry your lunch picnic as well as some personal belongings. Saddles adapted for the comfort of the horse, the comfort and safety of the rider.

The rental of the equipped horse, the guide, the assistant ensuring luggage transports, accommodation, meals with table water and 1/4 wine, luggage transports, the financial guarantee of your payments by our security deposit travel operator.

THE PRICE  DOESN'T INCLUDE
Individual insurance, drinks out of meals and not included, any visits, transport to and from Lauris, tips, everything that is not indicated in 'THE PRICE INCLUDES'.

INSURANCE:
A civil liability and travel insurance (assistance/repatriation) is compulsory. A cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.
A payment by credit card can make you benefit from its possible insurance (check your contract).
We offer to Europe Union, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway residents: the Chapka insurances.
