During your stay, you will not be considered as a tourist but as one of the members of the ranch team, and you will live a real life experience on horseback on a ranch !
RANCH RIDING STAY IN THE WYOMING
INDICATIVE ITINERARY *
Saturday: Meet at Rapid City Airport in the afternoon. Transfer to the ranch.
Monday to Friday: Every morning, during breakfast, the cowboys explain the day's program to you.
Before breakfast, they rounded up the horses from their pasture and put them in the corrals, where one horse is assigned to each rider for the day. During your stay, you will have the chance to try several horses.
You typically ride 3-4 hours in the morning, return to the ranch for lunch, and ride again in the afternoon for another 3-4 hours.
Please note that there is no set schedule as the work to be carried out varies depending on the time of year. There may be times when no livestock work is necessary. In this case, you go up just for fun, enjoying the magnificent landscapes.
Besides working with livestock, you can for all dates: ride in the arena, practice lasso, barrel racing...
Saturday: After breakfast, transfer to Rapid City Airport.
April-June: Calving Season
We need to ride to the herd to check on the babies every day to be sure that they are ok.
At the end of the calving season, we will have a branding which we still do like in the "old west" with horses, ropes, sweat and dust.
July-August: Cattle Drives for pasture management
At that time, we usually have about 1200 head of cattle. The cowboys will explain to the guest the cattle drive techniques.
August-October: Cattle Round-Up
We will begin our roundup of cattle and choose which ones to keep and to sell before winter. The cattle we keep will be moved to the winter pasture.
This is a period of hard work which involves long riding days.
Apart from cattle work, you can ride in our arena and practice team penning , breakaway roping , barrel racing and/or cutting horse.
Non-equestrian activities:
During the week, you can have a free day off the ranch where you will visit local sites. The days without riding are decided according to the wishes of the participants. There are many attractions to visit around the ranch, including Devils Tower (America's First National Monument), which is just a few miles from the ranch, the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Deadwood, etc. .. During this day, transportation is included but meals must be paid extra. When possible, you will also attend rodeos, horse auctions, and other interesting local events.

MEETING:
Saturday directly at the ranch in the afternoon, free transfer from Rapid City Regional Airport between 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.
DEPARTURE:
Saturday after breakfast, free transfer to Rapid City Regional Airport between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
TRANSFERS OUT OF SATURDAYS AND FIXED TIMES:
200 $ / transfer / person (= 400 $ / person round trip) to be paid directly on site.

Flights are not included in our prices because it is generally more interesting to book your flights yourself, an inclusive flight package is generally more expensive with agency commissions. HORSES:
The ranch has 35 to 40 riding horses ranging in age from 3 to 15 years old. Most are Quarter Horses, but also Pintos and Mustangs, all with good cow sense.
Most of the horses are raised and trained by the ranch's cowboys. From April to October, training begins for the 2/3 year olds who will then become the new saddle horses.
There is a horse for every level of rider, from beginner to advanced.

ACCOMMODATION: 
You stay on an authentic working ranch, located on 30,000 acres of property. Guests are accommodated in an entirely wooden lodge equipped with 8 rooms. Each room has a private bathroom with hairdryer and a comfortable bed. There is also a small cabin, separate from the main building, with its own bathroom.
There is no television on the ranch. There is a living room with a pool table and table football. The living room has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and is decorated with a Western theme.
Wi-Fi and cell phone access available on the ranch.
After a long day of riding, you can take a swim in the lake or simply relax in a hot tub.
There is a small store on the ranch where you can purchase western clothing and gear.
MEALS:
All meals are included in this package and a lot of attention is paid to the kitchen. Please note that meal times may vary depending on the daily schedule.
The day starts with a good buffet breakfast including coffee/tea, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, ham, cheese, biscuits, eggs, toast, ham, ...
When moving the herd or working the cattle: lunch outside the ranch in buffet style with sandwiches to prepare.
Lunches and dinners on the ranch are also buffet style and offer a variety of dishes: pasta, meat, vegetables, homemade bread and cakes, etc.

THE PRICE DOESN'T INCLUDE:
Individual insurance, drinks out of meals, transfers from/to Rapid City airport out of Saturdays or fixed times, flights, 10-15% gratuity to pay locally, all that is not indicated in "the price includes".
INSURANCE:
A civil liability and travel insurance (assistance/repatriation) is compulsory. A cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.
A payment by credit card can make you benefit from its possible insurance (check your contract).
