HORSE RIDE IN JORDAN
INDICATIVE ITINERARY *
Day 1 - Saturday: Welcome to Jordan! After immigration procedures, your driver will take you directly to your hotel in Madaba where you will be staying. Overnight at Madaba. Madaba is mostly a Christian town and the center is within walking distance of the hotel. If you arrive early enough then you can visit the St. George church to admire the mosaics (Dinner is included for arrivals before 10:00 PM). Possibility for optional tours, activities on request (contact us). Night at the hotel.

Day 2 - Sunday: After breakfast, your driver will pick you up at 8:00 am at the hotel to drive you to Petra (3h drive). Once the luggage is dropped off at the hotel in Petra, you will set off to explore the ancient Nabataean city with a Jordanian guide for 2-3 hours. Lunch (not included, but possibility of catering on site). Then you are free to explore this majestic site on your own or relax at the hotel. Meeting in the evening at the hotel for dinner. You will then meet your equestrian guide to discuss the program for the next few days. Night at the hotel in Petra.
Day 3 - Monday: Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to meet the horses just outside Wadi Moussa. You ride towards Little Petra in the hills above Petra, with a magnificent view of Jebel Haroun mountain, the highest peak in the Petra region. The prophet Aaron, eldest brother of Moses, was buried here by Moses himself. Leaving the horses tied, those who wish can walk to the 'High Place of Sacrifice' to enjoy the incredible views of Petra and the maze of canyons in which it is located. A picnic before going up in the afternoon to camp on Taibe Mountain. Dinner and night at the camp.
Day 4 - Tuesday: After breakfast, you depart from Taibe mountain to the old village of Rajif, which offers breathtaking views of the Wadi Araba desert. A magical experience in nature. Lunch in the shade of a garden. Then you continue to ride along the Silk Road which was used by caravans of traders to trade their wares. There are opportunities for long gallops across the plains towards Ber Hamad (an ancient Nabataean caravan cistern). Dinner and night at the camp.
Day 5 - Wednesday: Breakfast at the camp then departure through Ber Hammad along the trail which in Nabatian and Roman times linked Wadi Sabra and Petra. There should be plenty of opportunities for exhilarating trots and canters along the way. A vibrant afternoon takes you through the limestone hills to the desert gate “bab el Sahara” On a clear day you can see the red sandstone foothills of Jebel Rum, the central mountain of the Wadi Rum region with a peak at 1784 meters. Dinner and night at the camp.
Day 6 - Thursday: Continuation of your riding trip east through curious little canyons, while following the Spice Trail along parts of the ancient Silk Road. You pass the old village of Thogra, then dismount to lead the horses on the Desert Road, the main road between Amman and Aqaba that continues to Saudi Arabia. Then continue east through a long valley to the lunch break. In the afternoon, you set off again towards the sandstone cliffs of Wadi Rum where you should be able to see the natural rock arch “Karazeh” before reaching the camp. Dinner and night at the camp.
Day 7 - Friday: Breakfast at the camp and departure to ride under the majestic sandstone cliffs, admiring the famous inscriptions made centuries ago by the Thamudic and Nabataean peoples. Continue southeast towards the farming village of Chakria, stopping for lunch by the famous mudflats. Climb to the French Fortress which is still well maintained and located in one of the most beautiful desert landscapes in Jordan, rarely visited by tourists. In the afternoon, you will continue through stunning canyons and into the mudflats, perfect for exhilarating long gallops. Eventually you come to Wadi Um Ishrin, a large valley next to Jabel Um Ishrin, with beautiful sand dunes. Overnight in Um Ishrin Valley at your camp.
Day 8: - Saturday: You are now in the heart of Wadi Rum. After breakfast, you set off on horseback through the beautiful Um Ishrin Valley, passing the red sand dunes of Anafishia Valley. You'll pass the ruins of 'Lawrence's House' and cross the beautiful Barrah Canyon, where there are several Thamudic carvings on the cliff faces depicting camels and other animals. Arriving at the lunch stop, you say goodbye to the horses and after lunch transfer approximately 1 hour by car to Aqaba on the Red Sea. You can relax there. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Madaba.
Day 9 - Sunday: Breakfast and then you will be driven to the Dead Sea. A day of relaxation to swim, float and relax by the Dead Sea on a hotel's private beach. Testing the exceptional buoyancy of the Dead Sea is an amazing experience!. Lunch at the hotel. In the late afternoon, you will be taken by vehicle to Madaba via Mount Nebo, with a chance to visit the church before sunset. Dinner and night at the hotel in Amman.
Day 10: After breakfast, transfer to Amman airport.
