Programme intro

EQUESTRIAN VACATION IN MOROCCO
INDICATIVE PROGRAM *

Day 1: Meeting at Agadir airport and transfer by taxi to the ranch. On arrival, you discover the ranch: oasis of greenery in which you will spend the week. You can enjoy the gardens and terraces between the sea and the mountains. Discovery of the team and the horses around a good Moroccan tea before dinner.

image-20231116111444-1Day 2: Ranch - Laouina. After a good breakfast, you prepare your horse and leave the Ranch for this first day of horseback riding. The day begins with a good trot climb to reach the mountains overlooking the ranch and the ocean. You cross Berber villages and come across shepherds and their flocks. Lunch in the shade of the argan trees. In the afternoon, you leave the mountains with a superb view of the Tiznit plain. Between the crops and the wadi, you take dirt paths which allow you to achieve good pace. In the evening, you are welcomed into a local’s home to discover the Berber culture and way of life.

Day 3: Laouina - Ouijane. Departure from Laouina, you trot to an oasis which brings you shade and freshness, and follow the canals: an ancestral image-20231116111524-2irrigation technique. After crossing the village and stopping at the spring to quench the horses' thirst, you enter an arid stone desert with the mountain as a backdrop. For lunch, you find shade in a village where you can discover the old constructions of typical adobe houses. Then set off again to attack this rocky desert! A few palm trees and crossing the wadis before seeing the village of Ouijane and its forest of century-old olive trees. After a maze of alleys and shaded paths, you arrive at Valérie and Michel's house. You can enjoy a dip in the swimming pool before spending the night in traditional chaima tents (possibility of reserving a Kaïdal tent with private bathrooms, at an additional cost).

image-20231116111635-3Day 4: Ouijane – Assounfou. Departure from the Ouijane oasis via a track overlooking a wadi, giving us good pace. We offer 2 options for this morning: a passage through the mountains which requires a good walk on steep paths, but the breathtaking view is worth it. Otherwise we can walk along the mountain for a morning more accessible to everyone. After the picnic with a view of the argan plantations and rocky cliffs, you leave for an afternoon which crosses the villages clinging to the foot of the mountains. Evening and night in a comfortable hotel lost at the gates of the “little Sahara”.

Day 5: Assounfou – Massa palm grove. Departure for the day by crossing the sand dunes. You then follow the Massa wadi, the largest in the Souss image-20231116111743-4region. Lunch not far from the large farms, then you reach Massa, crossing ancestral cultures by the donkey paths which have shaped the landscape of their work for centuries. Water gives rise to luxuriant life in this delta which contrasts with the arid landscapes crossed previously. You return to your hotel, where you can enjoy the swimming pool for a moment of relaxation before dinner, with a view of the palm grove.

Day 6: Massa palm grove – The Caves. You leave Massa to reach the coast, via tracks which cross desert landscapes and allow good pace. Lunch overlooking the sea at the top of the cliffs. Magnificent galloping tracks allow you to cross a new sandy desert to the lodge run by a Berber family. You spend the evening in troglodyte caves hidden in the cliff overlooking the ocean.

image-20231116111859-5Day 7: Caves – The Ranch. For this last day of hiking, you finish crossing the desert on the heights of the cliffs to the fishing port of Aglou where you stop for lunch. Return towards the Ranch galloping along the beach with 15km of fine sand! On arrival at the Ranch, you participate in the care of the horses, and can enjoy a well-deserved massage (additional charge by appointment). The copious couscous on Friday will end this week in style!

Day 8: End of your trail ride in Morocco after breakfast. Transfer to Agadir airport, with your head full of beautiful memories.
