Three days horse riding to discover the Luberon Regional Natural Park. The first day, a short day allows you to get used to your horse. You then go on a two-day ride between Petit and Grand Luberon with one night in an inn in the heart of the massif.

Itinerary

INDICATIVE ITINERARY :

Day 1 : Meeting in Lauris at 9 am. A day ride with a picnic on the Durance river bank and a swim with your horse in Summer. Ride back to your accommodation, dinner and night.

Day 2: After breakfast, we will start the trip through the Luberon rolling hills, towards the beautifull perched village of Bonnieux. The houses, all made with stones, form a striking harmony of earth-toned colours and shapes. Some superb residences dating back to the 16th, 17th, and 18th century serve as a reminder that Bonnieux was a wealthy village when this region, the Comtat Venaissin, belonged to the Popes. Several bishops also chose to live here and as you ride through the village streets you will no doubt marvel at the architecture and history on display. Take a glimpse on Lacoste, the village of the sadly known Marquis de Sade. Beware and follow your guide very closely so you do not get lost anywhere near his castle. After the picturesque village of Bonnieux, the trail goes down in the Valley of the Aiguebrun river down high cliffs famous for climbers. Overnight in a nice auberge or guesthouse, sometimes with a swimming pool.

Day 3: You will ride up to the crests of the Luberon to discover an exceptional landscape on all the Provence and a view on the Alps to the North, on the Mediterranean to the South. Then, you will ride down to Lourmarin and its 12th century castle, a charming Provencal village that inspired the famous American writer, Peter Mayle, who is now living near the village. After lunch, you will then ride back to Lauris through the olive trees and cherry orchards, with nice views on the Sainte Victoire mountain, “Cezanne’s mountain”. End of the ride at about 5 p.m.

MEETING/DEPARTURE
MEETING:

Day 1 at 9 am in Lauris. 
Lauris is located 1 hour from Marseille and Avignon, 1/2 hour from Aix en Provence.
Coming by plane or train: bus schuttle from Marseille airport or Aix en Provence TGV station (see price and schedules) or Marseille Saint-Charles cente train station (see price and schedules), Aix en Provence TGV station, then bus from Aix en Provence 9h40 to Lauris centre à 10h45 (see price and schedules). Free transfer from Lauris bus stop to the equestrian center.

DEPARTURE: 

Day 3 at about 5 pm. Transfer to La Roque d'Antheron bus stop. Bus from La Roque d'Antheron (see prices and schedules) at 6:27 pm to Aix en Provence center 7:05 pm. Bus schuttle (see price and schedules) from Aix en Provence center to Aix en Provence TGV station, Marseille airport, Marseille Saint-Charles center train station (see price and schedules). 

Riding

RYTHM:

The program is progressive: about 4 hours riding on the first day. 4-5 hours the second and third days. 2-3 hours in the morning, 2-3 hours in the afternoon, with a long break of around 2 hours at noon. The three paces are practiced depending on the terrain.

GUIDE:

One English speaking licensed guide and one assistant ensuring the preparation of midday meals..

To register on a Cap Rando holiday, you must be covered by an individual liability insurance covering your activity, individual accident, assistance, repatriation, and possibly cancellation (strongly recommended not to lose your payment in case of unforeseen your cancellation insurance contract). 4. PAYMENT:
A 30% deposit is required upon booking, the balance being due 60 days before the stay date. Less than 60 days before your departure date, full payment is requested at registration.
